On Saturday, 2/28 Bev Wallace and I birded the following locations in Contra Costa Co: Holland Tract,?east end of Orwood Rd., Clifton Court Forebay, and the CA aqueduct crossing at Herdlyn and?Linderman Rds. A great day for raptors,?cranes,?and waterfowl. Highlights were as follows:?

--Holland Tract--
GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE - 1000+
SNOW GOOSE - 60
WHITE-TAILED KITE 2
NORTHERN HARRIER - 6
RED-TAILED HAWK - 10
FERRUGINOUS HAWK - 3 (1 juvenile being chased by a harrier)
AMERICAN KESTRAL - 8
SANDHILL CRANE -? 650
GREATER YELLOWLEGS - 31

GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE - 400
SNOW GOOSE - 3500
ROSS'S GOOSE - 30+

--Clifton Court Forebay--
TUFTED DUCK was NOT present
