While Golden-crowned Sparrows may predominate in Phila Rogers's Berkeley
yard, at my Livermore yard they are an uncommon treat among the typical
White-crowns, and generally later in the season. So I was pleased today
to hear my FOS Goldie's sweet, not-quite-melancholy song. I imagine it is
a real pleasure to hear them singing on a daily basis.

No Wood Ducks on the bike ride today - a (human) couple had taken "my"
bench overlooking the creek. But I did get my FOS Ruby-crowned Kinglet
nearby, which was followed by the SOS (second of season) in my yard this
    afternoon.
