    Hi all:

It's been a long while since I trekked to Frank's dump. There's always something:

    Black-bellied Plover 6 basic
Semi-palmated Plover 38 buried in the NE corner. 3 different groups.
    Western Sandpiper 2200
    Dowitcher spp 78
    Short-billed Dowitcher 12
    Long-billed Dowitcher 2
    RED KNOT 9
    Marbled Godwit 18
    American Avocet 4
    Black-necked Stilt 6 -- 2 juveniles
    Least Tern 2 Flyovers

Frank's Dump is a wetland sink on the east side of the Bay Trail. Closest access is:
880 to Hayward's Winton Ave. exit WEST
Winton Ave to the Staging area or park just outside the staging area.
1/2 mile walk west to the bay. Turn north and walk 1/2 mile to Frank's Dump on your right. Best viewing is an afternoon or early evening high tide and "Roberts Landing" is probably the best proxy for tides in this area. Ignore the tides and you may find Frank's Dump completely empty.
EBParks.org for an excellent map of Hayward Regional Shoreline.
