    During the past three days we have made three brief visits to Black  
    Diamond Mines Regional Park where we have birded along the road and  
    around the picnic area adjacent to the upper parking lot.  We birded  
    early evening, early morning and mid-morning/early afternoon.
    
    Highlights included the following species:
    
    Olive-sided Flycatcher
    Pacific-slope Flycatcher
    Ash-throated Flycatcher (many)
    Western Kingbird (many)
    Loggerhead Shrike
    Warbling Vireo
    Yellow-rumped Warbler
    Townsend's Warbler
    Hermit Warbler
    Wilson's Warbler
    Rufous-crowned Sparrow
    Lark Sparrow	
    Black-headed Grosbeak (many)
    Lazuli Bunting (several)
    Bullock's Oriole (several)
    
    Other species observed:
    
    California Quail
    Turkey Vulture
    Red-tailed Hawk
    American Kestrel
    Mourning Dove
    Anna's Hummingbird (one was observed on nest)
    Acorn Woodpecker
    Nuttall's Woodpecker
    Black Phoebe (one was observed on nest)
    Western Scrub-Jay
    American Crow
    Barn Swallow
    Oak Titmouse
    Western Bluebird
    Northern Mockingbird
    Cedar Waxwing
    California Towhee
    Red-winged Blackbird
    Western Meadowlark
    Purple Finch
    House Finch
    Lesser Goldfinch
