Today, Sunday, January 18, I observed a male Varied Thrush foraging at the
very top of Mt Diablo (right next to the water fountain). It's often
difficult to get a clear picture of this bird as they typically "hang out"
in dense foliage, but this one was out in the open. (I didn't have my trusty
Nikon as I was on a bike ride this time alas). (Also, for those interested,
I observed a Loggerhead Shrike near the Northgate entrance twice in the past
2 weeks while riding my bike.)
