The Albany Adult School went to the Valle Vista staging area of San Leandro
Reservoir.  We saw 40-some species, including:

7 male Wood Ducks
2 (pair) Common Mergansers
1 male Hooded Merganser
1 Merlin
1 California Thrasher

Also a Downy Woodpecker excavating a nest hole.
