    Friends!
Robins have returned to Ashbury Avenue in El Cerrito (cross street is Lynn).

Bewick's Wren has been singing and seeming to mark out the boundaries of a
territory in the backyard for several days. According to the Birds of North
America pamphlet, this is "early spring" behavior, pairs don't usually form
till March ( I have not seen a pair, just one singing male).

I thoroughly enjoyed the January 13 presentation by GGAS on the just-passed
Big Year. Thank you for all that great effort, and for the postings to this
list that helped lead me and others to great birds in 2008!

    Best of birds to you!
