[EBB Sightings] Roadrunner Mines Road

This morning at 11:35, Judith Dunham found a G. Roadrunner at the same place the Brandiffs saw one at MM 9.30.  We parked at MM 9.8 and walked downhill, scanning both sides of the road.  The bird was foraging back and forth across the hill in the grass above the roadcut at MM 9.30 and the rocks at the top of the ridge.  It's best seen from up the road, where you have a more expansive view of the hill.  We were able to watch it forage for about 30 minutes before a car came along and it flew downhill and out of sight.

At this point, I was desperate enough to play a taped episode of the Roadrunner cartoon if we hadn't found it.  It was a lovely way to end the Alameda Co. Big Year.
