    I saw the Hooded Merganser at about 11 this morning. He was working 
    along the freeway side of the big lagoon, more or less opposite the pier 
    that sticks out into the water from the other side a bit south of the 
    slanted block in mid-lagoon.
    
    Forty gazillion Bufflehead, some (mostly Common) Goldeneyes, and a dozen 
    or so Red=breasted Mergansers, all female or alternate-plumage males, 
    were in roughly the same area.
