After reading Bob Richmond's report of his day at the Hayward Shoreline, I headed down there arraiving about 6pm. From the viewing tower at the Interpretaive Center, I was easily able to scope the Black Terns flying back and forth along the channel to the north. Also could easily pick out the Great-tailed Grackles sitting on top of the reeds along this same channel. After which, I made a mad dash to Frank's Dump West to try my luck with the Wilson's Phalaropes. Failed to find them but found instead a single breeding plumage female Red Phalarope but 30 feet off the trail.
