[EBB Sightings] Common Poorwill in Tilden Park

Hi east bay birders:

I hiked up the south leg of the Big Springs trail and then went north
on the Skyline Trail after dinner last night and was rewarded with
good looks at a single, silent Common Poorwill at dusk.  The bird was
sitting on the Skyline trail about 100 yards south of the picnic table
at the highest point of the trail.  I watched it for about 10 minutes,
during which time it flew off only once, soon returning to the same
spot.  I guess it was too cold for many flying insects to be about.  A
bit earlier I heard singing House Wren and Rufous-crowned Sparrow.
