I announced on 3/1 that an Allen's Hummingbird started a nest in a redwood
tree in my back yard.  On 3/7 the nest appeared complete, after which she
spent a lot of time sitting.  On 3/28 she was feeding nestlings.  Sadly,
this morning I discovered the nest torn to shreds.  Perhaps it was too close
to my bird feeders with jays, squirrels, etc, very active nearby.
