Today at 1:30, the mudflats were filled with feeding birds at low tide. Black-bellied Plovers, Avocets, Black-Necked Stilt, Least Sandpipers, Marbled Godwits, Willits, a lone Long-billed Curlew, and many Calif gulls. The Eurasian Widgeon was again found among the American Widgeons and Northern Pintails. Can a more experienced birder confirm that some of the Northern Pintails seem to be in eclipse plumage? They seem ruffled and white-chested and not quite as sharp as normal.
