This morning I found a RS/YS male N. Flicker around
the visitor's center at Coyote Hills, Fremont, Ca. It
had mostly black malars (bit of red on the top front
portion) & red triangle on the nape. Everything else
was RS plumage (gray face, throat & neck/nape, etc.).

Later, at William Cann Park in Union City a very nice
1st yr. male Black-throated Gray Warbler popped out of
the bushes along the creek at eye level just 10' from
me. He continued to forage in the small tree in front
of me for several minutes. Great looks & only my
second sighting of the species. This sighting was much
    closer than the first!
