This morning we observed a banded Golden-crowned Sparrow in a mix flock
feeding on the ground under our backyard bird feeders. The flock included: One
California Towhee, one Spotted Towhee, two Fox Sparrows, one Song Sparrow, one
White-crowned Sparrow, three California Quail, four Dark-eyed Junco, and six
Golden-crowned Sparrows. This site is located on Wilton Drive near Burton in
Oakland, top of the hill, elevation approximately 1,475 feet.

The banded Golden-crown has a silver band on its right leg and what appears
to be two bands on its left leg, the top one red or rose-colored, the lower one
white or cream-colored. Can't see any numbers. Anyone have an idea whose
bands these are and/or where the bird might have been banded? Possibly up north
    in breeding territory?
