This morning at 10:30, 1 WANDERING TATTLER was resting on the north arm
of the breakwater at the Albany Bulb at the west end of Buchanan St. in
Albany. On the walk out, there were scads (a very scientific term) of
YELLOW WARBLERS feeding in the fennel.
At about noon, 1 BLACK TERN was swooping and diving at the south end of
the large pond just south of the Winton Ave. entrance to Hayward
    Shoreline.
I was hoping for a threesome, but could not find the BUFF-BREASTED
SANDPIPER. Did meet someone who said it had been seen very early this
morning. He also reported seeing a CHIPPING SPARROW on the path south
of the Water Treatment Plant at Hayward Shoreline and a CLAY-COLORED
SPARROW on the way in from the Grant Ave. entrance to Hayward
Shoreline. I did not see the Chipping Sparrow, it was by now about 2
and quite hot so bird activity was low, but I may have caught a glimpse
of the Clay-Colored Sparrow just north of the Grant Ave. parking lot in
the weedy field. The look was too fleeting to be sure.
