    Hi Everyone--

    Mitchell Canyon was the happening place this morning 5/5: A trail riding
    competition, mountain biking, multiple bird classes, boy scouts. To get out
    of the way, I went straight to the Globe Lily Trail, where I saw 10 HUTTON'S
    VIREOS (this seemed like a lot, and all were easy to spot); two WARBLING
    VIREOS together with two HERMIT WARBLERS; one BLACK-THROATED GRAY WARBLER;
    and at least 6 TOWNSEND'S WARBLERS. I saw one CASSIN'S VIREO and heard
    others. I counted four HAIRY WOODPECKERS. A silent SWAINSON'S THRUSH sat
    briefly in the shrubbery. A BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER was in the chaparral. A
    few of the trail's namesakes were in bloom. At the east end of the Globe
    Lily Trail, a coyote walked down Red Road right in front of me. I walked
    uphill to give it some space, and what should come waddling down toward me
    but a weaner-size Wild Boar! Almost back at the parking lot, there was a
    WESTERN WOOD-PEWEE.
