    Nope. I don't know if I heard someone else say it or made it up, but 
    I've always called the crew of normally wild birds that hang around 
    between the island and the nature center begging for bread and grain the 
    "whore-birds": they seem to have no dignity.
    
    Meanwhile, no one has ventured an opinion about whether this particular 
    specimen could have been a Redhead. We do get oddities at the lake - the 
    4th-Wednesday trip picked up a Surf Scoter in January - but I'd love to 
    hear from someone who's seen this one.
