[EBB Sightings] western tanager?

This is in response to Laura Gee's possible sighting. I just saw a western 
tanager this morning flitting in an oak tree on a grassy hill in south Walnut 
Creek. I have never seen them before in the summer. I have seen them in May in 
this same tree. Two years ago I saw a pair daily for almost the whole month. 
Last year I had one possible sighting and this year none definite.

This is in my back yard against Sugar Loaf Hill in the south part of Walnut 
Creek off Rudgear Road.

Another unusual sighting: a white-tailed or black-shouldered (?) kite 
hovering over this same hill about two weeks ago.
