Today (5/29), at Briones Regional Park, we hiked a loop from Alhambra Creek
Staging Area up Alhambra Creek Trail and down Diablo View Trail. The
birding was actually better in the open oak woodlands of the Diablo View
Trail, probably due to the large number of horses/bikes/dogs along the
    creek trail.

A pair of GOLDEN EAGLES were leisurely soaring east-west mid-morning (we
did not see white on the tails on these 2, so we believe they were
adults). Later, after noon not far from the parking lot area, we saw a
third, juvenile GOLDEN EAGLE (noticeable white on the base of the tail). A
tiny-looking juvenile Red-tailed Hawk was harassing it, and both flew quite
    low, giving great looks.

A COOPER'S HAWK pair were seen hunting. We could not locate a nest, but
the female caught... something (probably a small bird)... and flew off into
    the woods with it.

    Other good birds were:

    Red-shouldered Hawk
    Ash-throated Flycatcher
    Western Wood-pewee
    House Wren
    Western Bluebirds (lots!)
    Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
    White-breasted Nuthatches
    Hutton's Vireos
    Warbling Vireos

The area was coated with baby chickadees. A female Anna's Hummingbird was
seen hovering over the creek and then dipping her bill, whether to drink or
    collect bugs wasn't clear.

    Good birding,
