On Saturday (5/27) I made an impromptu survey of Grasshopper Sparrows in
Wildcat Canyon Regional Park. I detected 11 birds, mostly singing on
territory. Four were along the unnamed track east of the Mezue Trail,
directly overlooking Havey Canyon. I heard 1 more along the Mezue Trail. The
remaining 6 were scattered along the Conlon Trail. The noted nesting areas
were generally characterized by moderate slope, roughly south facing
hillsides, grazed grasslands with little or no thatch, sprinkled with
shrubby songposts, either Coyote Bush or thistle.

Also found a couple Lark Sparrows along the Conlon Trail. Heard a distant
Olive Flycatcher upslope from Inspiration Point. Tried for the Parula at
    Jewel Lake but no dice.
