    Hi all,

Today we spotted the long tailed duck at about 12:30, about 2 hours before
high tide. It was with the scoters and scaups to the west, same place as
    has been described before.

As we saw the bird right away, we decided to check out the birds at Martinez
Waterfront Park. At the pond, there were lots of avocets, black-necked
stilts, gulls and pigeons, some ruddy ducks, three dowitchers sp., a male
and female canvasback, and a horned grebe diving around the pond. Just
before you go over the arched bridge over the creek, and looking north at
the east side of the creek, there were some black-necked stilts, three
willets and just behind the willets a Common snipe, as described in Sibley.
In the general area there were also song sparrows, white crowned sparrows,
ruby crowned kinglet, yellow rumped warbler, mockingbird, Anna's hummer,
gulls and starlings. It was a beautiful day, sunny with a light breeze.
