Yesterday I saw what looked like a first year juvenile Green Heron where the
creek comes into Lake Temescal. Are they common in this area? It was very
near a Black-crowned Night Heron and was significantly smaller so I didn't
think it could be a Night Heron or an American Bittern. It also had yellow
eyes, a yellow strip between the eyes and bill, yellowish legs, a sharp bill,
heavy brown & white striping on the throat and breast and a dark gray/black
    crown and back.
