Two Tropical Kingbirds were seen Oct. 23 flycatching at the south end of
Lake Merced in San Francisco around 1:00 PM. They were seen by a number of
birders there.
Directions: Go to the south end of Lake Merced and enter the parking lot
from Lake Merced Blvd at the east end of the concrete bridge. Just before
the bridge on the left (south) of the path is an area with leafless trees.
The birds were foraging from the tops of the low trees.
There were also several warblers in the pine trees to the right of the path
between the parking lot and bridge: Black and White, Yellow-rumped,
Townsend's, and Orange-crowned.
