Just before lunch today I birded William Cann Memorial Park in Union City (at the end of Hop Ranch Rd. south of Alvarado Niles Rd. I saw & heard -

      Townsend's Warbler, male
      Wilson's Warbler, male
MacGillivray's Warbler, male (not in its normal habitat, but up in a live oak tree)
      Western Tanager, male
      Hooded Orioles - 2
      Hutton's Vireo (my FOS)
      Pacific-slope Flycatcher (a calling male)
White-tailed Kite (The bird out of sight had a higher pitched call than the one I saw. Could the higher pitched call come from a female at this time of year?)
Selasphorous HB - one ore two buzzed over my head when I pished. Last year I got a good pic of a female Allen's in this little park (she spread her tail feathers while drying off in the shot, so I verified the width of the outer feathers). I'm guessing it may be the same pair.

The sighting of Hutton's Vireo and, especially, MacGivillray's Warbler would lead me to conclude that the big migration is now underway. Would that be a good assumption?
