    Hi all.
I, too was down that way today--saw the red-naped,
but not the solitaire (all the no parking signs made
me nervous, so I didn't stay long at its location). In
fact, it was a 4 woodpecker day for me; along with the
    red-naped, there were the ever-present acorns, a
Nuttall's (I'm all but sure) and at least 1
    red-shafted flicker.
    Others:
    California towhee
spotted towhee, a fair number of them
    varied thrush, a good number
hermit thrush, also quite a few
    Bewick's wren
    chestnut-backed chickadee
    oak titmouse
    dark-eyed junco
    western bluebird
    ruby-crowned kinglet
    white-breasted nuthatch
    yellow-rumped warbler,
    black phoebe,
    Say's phoebe (I'm fairly certain)
    scrub jay
    Steller's jay
    golden eagle, immature
    Anna's humingbird
    golden-crowned sparrow
    white-throated sparrow
    lesser goldfinch
    American crow
    turkey vulture
    red-tailed.
If I was up on my songs, I'm sure I could add more.
It was a gorgeous day in a gorgeous place. The
grass-carpeted oak groves along the Indian Joe Creek
    Trail were especially pleasant.
    Cheers,
