    Birders:

I went to the Richmond section of the park this morning in hopes of
finding a sharp-tailed sparrow, or possibly an unusual rail at high
tide. No luck with those dreams, but a couple of nice consolation
birds were present: a male Eurasian Wigeon, and a Burrowing Owl.

I parked at the west end of South 51st Street in Richmond, walked west
to the bay trail, and birded from there northward, almost to Meeker
Slough. The Eurasian Wigeon was with a flock of about 20 American
Wigeons in the bay, several hundred yards north of where the bay trail
crosses a slough. The Burrowing Owl flushed from the bay side of the
trail in about the same area. This is probably a wintering bird; I
flushed it (or perhaps it was a different individual) from the same
    area on November 1.

    Good birding.
