    Birders,

This morning I observed two species of empids at the Berkeley Marina.

There were two "Western" Flycatchers in the meadow area. Starting from the
entrance at the southeast corner of the meadow (across from the Seabreeze
Restaurant), go along the north-south pathway (roughly parallel to the
Highway 80 frontage road) to approximately 100 feet short of the "What Am I
Standing On" interpretive sign. These two flycatchers were in the Coyote
Brush on both sides of the trail.

There was a Willow Flycatcher near the Berkeley Pier anchorage. Starting at
the corner of University Ave. and Seawall Drive walk southeast into the
trees and shrubs, going about 200-300 feet until you reach a swale with
willows and a birdhouse on a 15 foot wooden post. The Willow Flycatcher was
perching in the surrounding pines and hawking insects flying in the area of
    the swale.

    Good birding,
