I went looking for the Eastern Phoebe today(Saturday) between 5:00 and
6:00 P.M. at the Lime Ridge location described by the Galloways below. I
didn't spot any but I did get great close-up scope views of two Loggerhead
Shrikes (1 adult and 1 juvenile and a Western Kingbird. Other birds seen
included a juvenile W. Meadowlark (who was not comfortable with 2 Shrikes
perched a few feet away), a male and a female Amer. Kestrel and Black
Phoebes. Follow the Galloway's description below to the trailhead. Take
the Cottonwood trail and head east about 400 yards to the second pond.
This pond can be seen from the trailhead and is filled with a lot of
cattails. Best viewing is from the south side of the pond--check the fence
posts and the wire cages surrounding the Oaks for these birds.
