Last Thurs at low tide, there were at least 10 Bonaparte's Gulls in a group
of mixed gulls across from the snack shop. Also present were Marbled
Godwits, Willets, Greater Yellowlegs, Lesser Sandpipers, Amer Avocets and
Black-Necked Stilts, one of the Dowitchers, and Black Turnstones. There
were a few ducks left, but in small numbers. Further along the shoreline
near Cesare Chavez Park were Eared Grebes with big ears, Western Grebes, and
several Caspian Terns. The Song Sparrows were singing away. A
Pacific-slope Flycatcher was in the junipers north of the sailing school
along the parking lot, along with an Anna's and a Selasphorus hummer. A few
crowned sparrows were around, and the robins were in full throat. Not bad
    for a short trip.
