This morning we had an orange-crowned warbler gleening insects off of our
roses. It was a new yard bird for us.
In addition, we are pleased to report that a pair of burrowing owls has
taken occupancy of a California ground squirrel burrow in the Prewett Park
area of Antioch. Last year this pair of owls fledged at least one
offspring. Due to a variety of activities at the park which included an RV
show, Christmas tree lot and Christmas tree collection location, we were
apprehensive about the birds returning.
Good birding,
Paul Schorr, Antioch
