    Hi EB Birders,
     
    I had a class to Valle Vista/Upper San Leandro Reservoir in Moraga on Saturday.  The highlight was hearing, and then finally seeing about 50 Greater White-fronted Geese flying very high directly overhead.  They were headed east (and slightly north), possibly towards the Delta or the Central Valley.  These geese were so high that they were difficult to see without binoculars. A few years ago, during a fall visit to Marin Headlands, I watched a flock of Tundra Swans come in from the Pacific and head east. Could these high-flying geese also have come south along the coast to the Golden Gate (which is just about on the same latitude as Moraga), then headed inland? Just speculation.  
     
    Any information to this possible migratory pattern in Greater White-fronted Geese would be appreciated. I couldn't find any references to support my "guess".
