    Birders,

Along the Richmond waterfront between Shimono (sp?) Friendship Park and =
Meeker Slough (take Marina Parkway exit off Hiway 580 in Richmond and =
drive approx. one mile towards the bay, S. Friendship Park is on the =
left) there were a few birds of note. At the open lawn area on the =
right as you walk southeast along the bayside trail was a Wilson's =
Snipe. At the beach that curves out into the bay just before the lawn =
area were four Black Turnstones foraging. At Meeker Slough a couple of =
Virginia Rails called and as the tide receded a nice collection of about =
a dozen shorebird species foraged in the mud channels. Along Meeker =
Creek there was a group of four Hermit Thrushes in the willows as well =
    as Yellow, Yellow-rumped (both Audubon's and Myrtle's), and Townsend's =
Warblers and a single "Western" Flycatcher.

    Good birding,
