[EBB Sightings] San Leandro Marina 3/12/10 and Brant at Berkeley Marina 3/14/10

I visited the San Leandro Marina on Friday the 12th from 8-10 am.  The
tides was fairly high allowing for good views of shorebirds on the
rocks of the two small islands just outside the marina.  Highlights
included:

5 White-winged Scoters (3 males and 2 females) photos of one of the
males can be seen at
1 Ruddy Turnstone
8 Surfbirds

There were also good numbers of the more common ducks and shorebirds

On Sunday the 14th at approximately 8:30 am I watched 9 brant flying
away from Emeryville towards the Golden Gate Bridge.  Keep your eyes
open for more migrants over the next couple of days.
