I stopped by Miller-Knox Regional Shoreline late this afternoon on my
way to an appointment elsewhere in Richmond. I was interested to see
if the Red-breasted Mergansers I observed on January 23 were still
present. They were gone, but I did spot the Eurasian Wigeon among the
    70 or so American Wigeon.

I heard the flight of a Selasphorus hummingbird in the same area that
I detected one on the 23rd. This time, it took me only five minutes
to see the bird perched and hovering, having just chased an Anna's
from an acacia tree. I was able to confirm that it is an Allen's.
