[EBB Sightings] Red-necked Grebe

The Red-necked Grebe was seen today at Lake Merritt about half way between the islands and the fountain. Recognizable by it's long bill, dark eye and voice. Sibley describes it's song as starting with a nasal gull like quality.
That's all it emitted in response to some gulls that were raising a ruckus!
No luck on the Tufted Duck and 2 other birders asked if I'd seen it or the Barrows merganser hybrid.
