This morning I awoke and looked out into our patio to see who was there 
early.  A Dark-eyed Junco was the first bird I saw.  When I threw a small 
amount of seed out there, another bird flew out of the plants and landed on 
the adjacent roof.  It was pretty cool to have a Hermit Thrush as my second 
bird of the new year.
