[EBB Sightings] Are American Pipit's common at Hayward?

 I biked and birded Hayward shoreline and on two occasions saw American
Pipits - one was very camera friendly, but a small flock were quite jumpy.
Are they common?  I've gone to Hayward shoreline several times, but never
noticed them.

The camera friendly one was on the southern east slope of Mt. Trashmore at
about 3:45PM.  It did have a bright white tip to its tail that the others
did not have which was interesting.
