[EBB Sightings] Cause for celebration

This isn't exactly a report of sightings, but I simply have to celebrate the recovery of the brown pelican from the brink of extinction--bringing its delisting as an endangered species yesterday. I grew up in the Bay Area, but never saw a single pelican until I moved back to the area in 1987. And now they're to be seen all along the coast an in the bay. Life would certainly be something less without the pelican. Here's hoping we can help bring about recovery for other endangered birds.
