While doing an oiled-bird survey this morning, we sighted a male
white-winged scoter at 9:35 a.m. near the southeast corner of the seaplane
lagoon at Alameda Point (former Naval air station) in Alameda.

The bird was approximately 50 feet offshore beneath a partially collapsed
    wooden dock.

    >From the southeast corner of the lagoon, the dock is about 600 feet NE along
the road. The coordinates from Google Earth: N 37.77480,
    W -122.298352.
