This morning around 10:30 am I found a Barrow's Goldeneye on the west side of the Lake Merritt's outlet by 12th Street.  This was a lifer for me.  
Also in the same area a large group of Double-crested Cormorants cornered a school of fish against the shore and a feeding frenzy ensued.  With egrets, cormorants, gulls and pelicans stabbing the water from all directions, the fish had little chance.
