[EBB Sightings] Antioch Dunes--Belated Report

Wednesday I participated in the Lang's Metalmark Butterfly census at the 
Antioch Dunes NWR.  None were found; this is the end of the season for them, 
though numbers were low this year.

White-crowned Sparrows were singing and flying from one bush lupine to 
another.  A Savannah Sparrow was also seen.

>From a high point on the eastern unit, we watched a male American Kestrel 
dive-bombing an oak tree, what was in there?  Later, near Wilbur Avenue, 
some of the other counters identified a Merlin as it flew past.
