This morning (Mon, Oct 12), a huge raft of about 1000 scaup (probably 
Greater) were visible on San Pablo Bay from the Bay View Trail at 
Point Pinole Regional Shoreline.  I've often started seeing them 
about a week earlier in this area.

The only other birds of interest were my first-of-season Hermit 
Thrush and a few Lincoln's sparrows.
