1) Calaveras Road/Sunol Area; 2) Birding By The Bay in El Cerrito-Central Ave.'s End Point

Today, there were no Vagrants or Casual Visitors during my wanderings, but, nonetheless here goes
with the Best of The Rest Highlights:
1) Two miles east of I-680 on Calaveras Road, I observed:
- RUFOUS-CROWNED SPARROW (1)
- GOLDEN EAGLE (1 adult; 1 sub-adult)
2) On mudflats and within their interface where they meet the shoreline rocks
at the end of Central Ave. (across from Costco where I parked at its western most lot at the bend where Central turns sharply 90 degrees to the north) in El Cerrito, I noticed:
- LESSER YELLOWLEGS (1)
- BLACK TURNSTONE (2)
- SPOTTED SANDPIPER (1)
Also worth noting the spectacle of many large disparate groups of AMERICAN AVOCET.
Many GREEN-WING TEAL males seen were in eclipse plumage and at various phases of waxing into alternate (breeding) plumage, with pair bonds of males and females of this species seen together.
Best wishes and Good Birding,
