    I wandered by there between 1:30 and 2 and the bird was (unsurprisingly) 
    gone, but a few minutes later I saw it land and stroll around on the 
    island second to the left end of the group, as I stood with my back to 
    the kiddie park. It was in the section of bare ground and fallen 
    branches, once again looking as though hiding was just not something it 
    needed to do.
    
    We may have a new resident!
    
    There were some very young (greeny-yellow legs) Snowy Egrets in the bird 
    paddock too, in addition to assorted Great and Snowy Egrets on the 
    islands, a couple of Great Blue Herons, and the usual Black-crowned 
    Night-Herons on the islands - I'm starting to hope they're all moving 
    back to the lake....
