The Brown Pelicans have returned in increasing numbers to the Bay, gliding majestically over the waters on the hunt.  It's always amazing to see them spot prey and dive from Olympic heights headlong into the water. This one hadn't reached it yet but was on its way.

I've read their name derives from the Greek for "shy", but it certainly takes some nerve to execute these dives.
