Rich Nicholson and I saw two pectoral sandpipers near some dowitchers on the far shoreline of North Marsh around noon today after not seeing any at Main Marsh. A scope was essential because the birds were so far away. We also saw FOS northern pintails, a FOS American wigeon, and a couple of FOS green-winged teal in addition to wave after wave of fast-flying northern shovelers "whooshing" in on arrival. FOS yellow-rumped warblers were on the hillside. North Marsh is where the white pelicans congregate, so it is easy to find even from a distance. To reach North Marsh, continue north on the dirt-and-gravel trail past the large fennel patch (as previously reported) and then up the dirt trail on the east side of Lizard Rock.
