[EBB Sightings] Pectoral Sandpipers at Coyote Hills Sept. 24th

This is a late post, but I thought that I would send it along just to compare numbers. My son and I drove down to Coyote Hills last night, and at 6:15 PM there were 5 pectorals standing together in the western end of the marsh. One was larger than the others-I don't know if it was a mature male or if the juvenile males can be larger than the juvenile females. Initially, I scoped from about mid-trail and didn't see them, but as I moved closer to Lizard Rock and the western shore they clearly came into view. They were in my scope for 20 minutes. I took a stroll over to the fennel patch for the OCWA, Yellow Warblers, and Lincoln's Sparrows that Stephanie reported. By the time I got back to the marsh in the dimming light, the pectorals had flown off. 

Pectoral Sandpipers seem to be turning up regularly in Northern California this fall. Is that something that is expected in certain years?
