I spent a week at Carson Pass in the Sierra, the national forest including and surrounding Kirkwood Ski Area. I observed and heard many Olive Sided Flycatchers, every day, on the various hiking trails in this region.

For all of you concerned about the decline of Olive Sided Flycatchers in the Bay Area, at least there seems a healthy presence of them in the mountains from this unscientific observation.

42 species sighted in all: notable are Bald Eagle, Osprey, Western Tanagers (many), Williamson's Sapsucker, Red Breasted Sapsucker, Green-tailed Towhee.

    Happy Birding,
