This morning I did the Gull and Tern survey for SFBBO on Eden Landing near
Union City. Great-tailed Grackle was the first bird recorded while I was
opening the gate. On the bay shore I had 35 Red Knots and many Black-bellied
Plovers. The evaporative salt ponds held a sprinkling of Red-necked
Phalaropes spinning up their food. Nothing out of the ordinary except one
    female Red-breasted Merganser.
Found some Forster's Terns in pre-nesting activity and a pair of Western
Gulls looking over a likely nesting spot.
    Good birding.
